Changing
the
Batteries

To change batteries, you should first have the replacement batteries at hand (two CR2032 Lithium batteries are required) and a small screwdriver to remove the two screws on the back of the calculator. Make sure you install the new batteries with the same orientation (plus and minus) as the original batteries (this is also shown on a diagram on the inside of the back cover).

The CR2032 battery is available at Radio Shack stores, camera stores or departments, and other places that sell small batteries.  It is round, about 0.75 inches (19 mm) in diameter and 0.125 inches (3.175 mm) thick.

See Detailed Instructions on changing the handheld calculator batteries (instructions are also in the User's Guide).

You will have to configure the calculator after replacing the batteries.  See Configuration Instructions.

Nov 2003 L73.3.8 Update CMHC routine with 2003 rates effective July 2003.

May 1998 L73 CMHC routine updated with 1998 CMHC Tables.
May 1997 L58 Personal Loan and BuyBack Loan routines enhanced to show the balance due at review, total interest costs, and BuyBack computed amortization.  These items were added to enable automobile dealers and others who provide indirect loans to the bank to make a complete loan disclosure.
Apr 1997 L52 Year 2000 Compliance upgrade — this is an important upgrade that insures the program will operate into the year 2000 and beyond.  This upgrade is highly recommended because without it, you will not be able to compute loans with a Start Date on or before 12/31/99 and a First Date after 1/1/00.

You can test your calculator to see if it needs this update by computing a sample loan with a Start date of 12/31/99 (enter "123199") and a First date of 1/01/00 (enter "10100").  If you get the error message "START > FIRST" when you attempt to compute the loan, your calculator needs to be upgraded.
Feb 1997 L49 CMHC routine updated with 1997 CMHC Tables.
Apr 1994 I92 Add mortgage disability plan.
Mar 1994 I83 Add CMHC routine.
Add Equivalent Future Rate (EFR) routine.
