These cards are no longer in production by Sharp Electronics, however PROM Software carries a significant inventory of reconditioned RAM cards These cards have been restored to "nearly-new" condition, and have been tested to make sure they perform properly. They come with a 30-day replacement warranty. A fresh backup battery (CR-1616 Lithium battery) should be installed in the card before it is placed in service. While installed in a PC-1270 calculator, the card uses the calculator's power supply and the backup battery is not used. The life of the backup battery is 5 years or more if the card remains in a calculator with useable batteries. If the RAM card is stored removed from the calculator, the life of the backup battery is about 12 months (depending upon the size card and the ambient temperature). The program in the card is lost when the backup battery is changed and when the ALL RESET button is pressed..
