Frequently Asked Questions

How do I send my inventory? We suggest you use FedEx or UPS.  Please print a copy of our suggested Packing List and include it with your shipment (keep a copy for your records).

If you are sending more than one box in a shipment, indicate the total number of boxes on the Packing List and include a copy of it in each box.

Pack the units carefully using bubble wrap or other packing material to protect them from becoming damaged during shipping.

The machines should be packed vertically (on their edge), and NOT flat on their back or face.  This helps protect the display from being broken during shipment.

The shipment should be insured in case the package gets lost  A reasonable average value would be based on $35 per unit..

I have calculators that look like the photo above but they don't say Sharp on them?  Can I send them?

Many companies that sold the Sharp PC-1270 calculators put their own labels on the front (and sometimes the back).  You'll find the words "Sharp Corporation" and "PC-1270" printed on the left side of the back of the calculator.

Also, the key-layout with the YES, NO and ENTER keys on the front is distinctive to the PC-1270.   The overall size of the PC-1270 is 5-5/16" x 2-3/4" x 3/8" inches (not including the printer).

There may be a label on the machine around the 8 function keys below the LCD display.  It could be white or another color.

If you're not sure, make a photocopy of the calculator (just lay it face-down on your copy machine) and fax it to us at +1 802 862 8357.

Why do you want these used calculators?

Sharp no longer manufactures this calculator and has not made a replacement model.  We have hundreds of software programs written specifically for this calculator that are still in use by many of our clients.

We will clean and refurbish all the working units and provide them to our other clients who still use them.  If you send units that are inoperative, we will recycle them properly.

Why don't we just throw them out?

Well, you could.  But they have significant value and are needed by others.   And the Lithium batteries and other parts should be disposed of in an environmentally-friendly way.

How much are my calculators worth?

Probably more than you think!  The exact value depends upon several factors:

  • Does the calculator work and is it in good condition?  Working units that are in good or better condition are worth the most.

  • Is the calculator in good, clean condition without scratches, dents, and so forth?  Units that have to be refurbished are worth less because of the cost of replacing the damaged parts.

  • Calculators that have many stickers applied to them are worth less because of the time it takes to remove the stickers.

  • If the calculator is inoperative we will recycle it for you at no cost.

We'll give you a complete report of what we find in your shipment.  If you decided not to accept our offer, we'll return all the calculators to you at our expense.

Note that the price we offer will fluctuate from time to time based on the supply and demand of used machines.  We reserve the right to withdraw the offer at any time.

Some of my calculators have printers.  Should I send them?  Do they have any value?

Yes, you can send printers with your inventory.  Printers that are clean and working have value.  We will include their value in our quote to you.

And we'll dispose of  the inoperative ones properly.
