Main Input Dialog

The main dialog for entering the lease parameters.

All the input data for the lease is entered on this screen.  You can see all the values and selected options at one time.

The Quick Results Window (lower right corner) shows the payment and drive-off cash (marked "uf") required.

Fees can be capped (or not capped) simply by just checking (or unchecking) the appropriate box.

You can use a Microsoft® Wheel Mouse or the [Page Up]/[Page Down] keys to adjust the entry in any field.  The payment and upfront cash are constantly calculated as you make changes.

You set the options you want on this dialog by using the Setup Dialog.

Detailed help is available on all fields.

Click the [Compute] button to see a full lease disclosure.

Quick Results Window

A close-up of the Quick Result window.

As field entries on the Main Dialog are changed with either the Microsoft® Wheel Mouse or the [Page Up]/[Page Down] keys, the lease is continuously recalculated.  (You can also click on the Quick Results Window to recompute the lease.)

The term, payment (or price, if the price is being calculated), and upfront cash (drive-off cash) are displayed.

If the MSRP has been entered, the relationship between the price and the sum of the MSRP and Hard Adds is shown (in this example, the price is 5% less than the sum of the MSRP and Hard Adds).

Setup Dialog

The Setup Dialog is where you set up the state, leasing company, and tax options.

Use the Setup Dialog to select the sales tax state, the leasing company, and to set other options.

The options in the State group are remembered for each of the 50 states, so you can change quickly from one state to another without having to reset the options.

The Security Deposit and Lease End Markup methods are remembered for each lease company so you can switch quickly from one lease company to another.

The Ask Lease Company option puts a lease-company selection box on the Main Dialog so you can jump from company to company without having to reenter the Setup Dialog.

Detailed help is available on all fields.

The settings in the Setup Dialog can be protected by a password to prevent unauthorized persons from making changes.

Results Window

This window shows the computed lease results. This is a complete disclosure that shows all the numbers needed to complete a lease agreement. You can compute several windows like this so you can easily compare leases.

The above results window scrolled down to show the rest of the disclosure.

When the [Compute] button is clicked on the Main Dialog, the entire FRB Regulation M Lease Disclosure is generated and displayed in a separate results window.

The contents of this window can be printed, or copied to the clipboard and then inserted in any other Windows® program such as Excel or Word.

For long disclosures, scroll bars on the right can be used to bring all parts of the disclosure into view (the sample to the left shows two different scroll bar positions).

Multiple leases can be computed and the results displayed on the screen simultaneously, making it very easy to compare a number of proposals.  Depending on the size of your monitor screen, you can have up to 10 results on the screen at once.

The ability to have multiple results windows on the screen makes it very easy to compare one deal to another.

Non-taxed items are shown with a trailing "~".  In this example, the Florida downpayment tax of $42.50 is capitalized in the lease but is not subject to sales tax (because it is itself a tax).

The Other-2 field (typically used for Extended Warranties and other non-taxed items) entry of  $300 is not taxed -- you can control whether to tax Other-2 by using the Setup Dialog.

The 527B LeaseMaker PC program is available in a variety of configurations, including Local, Floppy-based (can be run without installing), Enterprise and Network Versions.  See Technical Specifications.

If the trade is negative, the trade deficit appears as an item in the Gross Capitalized Cost.

The residual can be entered as a percentage of the MSRP plus Hard Adds, or can be entered directly (commonly required for used vehicles).

If the taxable payment is different than the base payment because of non-taxed items that have been included in the cap cost, it is shown as a separate item.

The local fee (also called a non-financed monthly charge) is added to the monthly rent.

The Excise tax field is added to the payment after the sales tax is computed.
